Intimo

On Saturday, I went to an Intimo Party at friend’s place. The Intimo Consultant was the lady who was the consultant for my party that I held maybe six years ago.  Deb is really great and she has the best personality.  The hostess of the party, Liza, and I were talking about how we first got into getting the Intimo range of bras & lingerie.  We figured out that Liza came to my first party and Liza’s had regular parties ever since.

I haven’t had an Intimo Party in a while.  So I’ve booked a party for 16th September.  It’s great because they have lots of beautiful bras that fit me. YAY!

First Bra Post Op

When I went to my six week post op appointment with Dr Fleming, he gave me the go ahead to get a bra. After six weeks, I was bloody happy to allowed to wear one again. So the next day when I was working in the city, I went to David Jones to get my first bra. I wouldn’t normally go to David Jones to buy clothes - I am not a fashionista or anything - I just went there because they have people that size you properly.

So Mindy and I went down to David Jones. It took ages for us to find someone that actually worked there. We walked up to a lady that worked there and I said something to the effect of “Hi, I need some help in getting a new bra. I’ve just had a boob job, so I don’t have a good idea of what size I’ll be.” I told her that I had found a website that told me how to take measurements so I would know my bra size. According to that website, I should be a 10D.

The lady grabbed a couple of 10D bras and we headed to the fitting rooms. Then she had an idea. There were all the reps from the Lingerie companies there. She asked all these ladies to help me. So the DJ’s worker left me with about 8 sales reps. I tried on the 10D bra and then opened the door to the fitting room. I said to Mindy that it felt ok and it looked ok - then one of the reps came in and went “Oh no sweetheart, you are a lot bigger than a D”. One of the other reps at the back said to another rep “Go and grab that new 10E bra that’s just come in.”

I turned to Mindy and said “Did I just hear right? Did she say 10E?”. Mindy nodded. The closest rep to me said that the E cup is two cups bigger than a D (the DD is between D & E).

The 10E fits. Yay. All the reps had to have a squish of the girls. I suppose not many people are quite as open about getting a boob job and getting felt up. LOL.

Let me tell you, after my initial fitting, I have not had much luck finding 10E bras. I bought a 10DD on sale and I squish into it. So, if you find any good 10E bras (on sale), let me know.

Photography Course

Last night was my first class for the photography course at Champaigne Photography. There are seven people in the course with me. I had a very big wake up call last night. There is a possibility of failing the course. There is an exam and you need to do a photographic essay. Yikes!

Last night, I didn’t get much sleep. My head just kept running a mile a minute. I ended getting out of bed and watching really crappy infomercials at 1am.

I have finally decided that I am going to do my photographic essay on Character. There is a huge list of what my theme could be and I think that Character is very open to interpretation.

So I need a favour, I need people that are willing to have their photo taken and spend a couple of hours with me in the next 6 weeks. If you are interested, please a comment to this post if you are interested. Also, if you have any great ideas of photos please post a comment. I appreciate anything that you can help me with.

Eagle St Pier & Southbank Markets

I went into the city to go to the markets with Jan, Geoff, Lou & Tahlia when they were over from NZ.  It was the first time that I had been to the Eagle Street Pier Markets.  I did quite enjoy my first experience.  It was also my first time on a ferry on the Brisbane River - YAY!  Apparently going on a River Cat is even better.  I’ll put that on the list to do.

There was an old fella who needed a swift kick in the head.  It was a natural moisturiser and other natural products stall.  As I didnt need a moisturiser at the time, I asked if he had a website or any information that I could take.  His response was “You get the information brochure when you purchase something and if we had a website, we wouldn’t be at here at the markets.” To which I said, “No worries, I don’t need anything right now.  But seeing you don’t have a website, you won’t give me any brochures & I don’t live around here {not true - but I was making a point dammit}, you won’t be getting any of my business in the future.”  The lady next to me laughed and we both walked away.

If I was running my business from a market, I would definately turn on the charm to get a sale.  Why are people like this doing retail? Wouldn’t you position your business as a wholesaler if you don’t like dealing with the public?

Men Scratching Their Groin Area

Yesterday, Glen and I went on a 4wd trip. A bit stupid really after I figured that my headaches are from my neck being out. It was fun though. It got very interesting when we were doing a track in a creek bed and then it started to rain heavily.

The guys on this trip were really nice and they came up to me and introduced themselves and had a chat. They were also more on Glen’s level of going hard in the 4wds. Click here for more info (hopefully he will update it shortly).

While sitting in the Ute (in my effort to stay warm and dry), I started watching the people that we were out with. There was only another two girls on the trip (I don’t think that they normally go on trips - just my opinion as I wouldn’t wear fashion sandals and make up on a trip out) and they didn’t interact with the other guys on the trip. So the guys were all standing around waiting for cars to get up this creek bed, and I was looking around at the guys and I counted 5 guys scratching themselves at the same time.

Honestly, are guys groins that itchy or is it a learned behaviour? Do guys think before doing it? At what point does it become a medical issue?

Headaches

I have had a weird headache all week. Yesterday, it got considerably worse while I was at work. After walking to Post Office Square to get some lunch, I stood for quite a while, just willing myself not to vomit.

Because I had already ordered some lunch, I sat down with my friend Mindy and tried to eat it.  Let’s just say that I didn’t eat very much and I went back to the office.

I was at my desk, trying not to move (as you do when you think you’re going to be sick) and I thought should I get Glen to come pick me up as I don’t want to vomit on the train home.  At least while feeling nauseous, I forgot about the killer headache I had.

Paul (from work) bundled me up and put me in a taxi.  The taxi driver kept trying to make small talk, but I was too busy trying not to vomit.  I told him that I wasn’t feeling too well and he seemed to stop trying after that.  Sorry mate - thought you would appreciate me not vomiting in your car.

I still have the headache today, so I’m going to go get a massage - hope it helps as the panadine forte hasn’t.

Bargain Shopping

On Saturday, Louise (Glen’s niece who is actually older than Glen) and I went shopping at Orion Shopping Centre. Lou came over and lived with us for a while a couple of years ago. We used to go shopping all the time back then. Seeing Lou is now a Mum (her bubba girl is the cutest) she didn’t want to go too far from home just in case we had to rush home. I was keen to go to Stones Corner or even Harbour Town. Not that much of a fan of DFO, but there’s a new one getting built at Jindalee, so I will probably frequent DFO more often.

I was thinking that we wouldn’t be gone that long seeing Orion isn’t that big of a player yet in the shopping stakes. Normally I go there for Lenard’s and Big W. However, six and a half hours later we were heading home. We got some absolute bargains. I got: a booby top from Valleygirl ($14.95); several knit tops that would go with suits or casually with jeans ($15 ea) and a lovely blue satin type dress ($15 - I got it with the thought of wearing it to a wedding) from a little boutique type shop; some funky clothes ($37) from Tree of Life and; cargo pants ($10), Rio singlets ($2 ea), two long sleeve knit tops ($5 ea - one I am wearing currently) and some socks ($5) from Big W. Bargain shopping.

Lou got heaps as well. She got a pressie for her hubby and lots of clothes for her daughter too.

I’m not a great fan of shopping normally, but I really loved going shopping with Lou. We both kinda know what suits each other and the kind of clothes we look for. Lou and I are both Virgos and currently we have been wearing the same colours and types of clothes. Today is purple.

I’m really going to miss Lou when the family go back to NZ tomorrow. :o(

Just thrown out

Glen’s sister gets here today, so we were doing last minute cleaning last night.  In the main toilet, I have a container that I keep my feminine hygiene products in.  I thought that I should move the container.  However, when I went to grab it, I thought that it was mighty light and so I opened it and to my surprise it was totally empty!

So either the new cleaners or the previous cleaner have assumed it’s a rubbish container and thrown everything out.  Honestly, I would assume that most people know the difference between used and not used items.  Too much information - I know!  RAR!!!

The thing that gets me is that these products are quite expensive and they have thrown out EVERYTHING!  So I need to go out and re-stock. Freaking fantastic.

Search for Floppy Disks

I have just got back from the shops and I am frustrated. I have an older computer that doesn’t have a CD burner but has a floppy drive.

I have to post off Ingenuity’s PAYG info off to the ATO and the only option that would work from my PC is the floppy. Of course we don’t have them on hand so I had to go shopping.

I understand that floppy disks aren’t the latest technology but I still thought that they would be quite accessible. How wrong was I? Maybe I should’ve taken a drive out to Ipswich. I suppose Orion Springfield is at the fore front of everything new and shiny.

When I finally found somewhere that had floppy disks, I almost had a heart attack at the price they wanted for them.

I feel like I’m turning into my Grandies with the stories of, “I remember when the 50 cent soft serve cones were only 30 cents and we used to have to wash up for a month to get that 30 cents”. Maybe that’s a mild exaggeration… I don’t think the 30 cent soft serve cones were around back then…. lol…

Cleaners

Sandy who has been our cleaner for approximately 3 years, has had a few personal issues and decided that she was going to give up work. So for the last month and a half, I have been trying to source another “good” cleaner.

The reason that we initially got a cleaner is because I was getting lumbered with pretty much all the household chores. There’s nothing more annoying than when you’re working your butt off cleaning and your other half sitting on their butt and they think the house is clean because of some wonderful fairies. So after several heated discussions, we got a cleaner. The cleaner doesn’t do everything, just the stuff that I don’t really like doing (ironing) and stuff that I don’t have time for.

I suppose I am used to the way that Sandy used to get things done and the time she needed. Let me tell you that there is a shortage of cleaners. Actually finding a place that has available cleaners is rare. Seeing that we want a cleaner to come in every week, it’s been hard to find someone.

The first couple of times that a cleaner comes to your home, they are a bit slow. They’re learning where all your cleaning products are and how easy / hard things are to clean. So Sandy used to get everything done in 3 - 3.5 hours. The first replacement cleaner took 4 hours to do: clean the main bathroom (clean shower screen, wipe out the spa bath, wipe down the vanity, clean mirrors, vacuum & mop), clean the kitchen (wipe benches, hotplate, outside of fridge, sink & vacuum & mop), clean the toilets, vacuum & mop the rest of the house.

Sandy in 3 - 3.5 hours could do all of the above plus: wash up & put away any dishes, all my ironing, take the rubbish out, clean the other bathrooms (another 2 ensuites), clean and wipe down in the laundry, vacuum the lounge suite and dusting.

We had tried out another cleaner this week. They went pretty well for their first clean. They pretty much did everything that Sandy could. However, the person that came this week is the area coordinator, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens when we get allocated another cleaner.
