First Bra Post Op
When I went to my six week post op appointment with Dr Fleming, he gave me the go ahead to get a bra. After six weeks, I was bloody happy to allowed to wear one again. So the next day when I was working in the city, I went to David Jones to get my first bra. I wouldn’t normally go to David Jones to buy clothes – I am not a fashionista or anything – I just went there because they have people that size you properly.
So Mindy and I went down to David Jones. It took ages for us to find someone that actually worked there. We walked up to a lady that worked there and I said something to the effect of “Hi, I need some help in getting a new bra. I’ve just had a boob job, so I don’t have a good idea of what size I’ll be.” I told her that I had found a website that told me how to take measurements so I would know my bra size. According to that website, I should be a 10D.
The lady grabbed a couple of 10D bras and we headed to the fitting rooms. Then she had an idea. There were all the reps from the Lingerie companies there. She asked all these ladies to help me. So the DJ’s worker left me with about 8 sales reps. I tried on the 10D bra and then opened the door to the fitting room. I said to Mindy that it felt ok and it looked ok – then one of the reps came in and went “Oh no sweetheart, you are a lot bigger than a D”. One of the other reps at the back said to another rep “Go and grab that new 10E bra that’s just come in.”
I turned to Mindy and said “Did I just hear right? Did she say 10E?”. Mindy nodded. The closest rep to me said that the E cup is two cups bigger than a D (the DD is between D & E).
The 10E fits. Yay. All the reps had to have a squish of the girls. I suppose not many people are quite as open about getting a boob job and getting felt up. LOL.
Let me tell you, after my initial fitting, I have not had much luck finding 10E bras. I bought a 10DD on sale and I squish into it. So, if you find any good 10E bras (on sale), let me know.
