Because they have passion, drive and ambition and feel that they will never be able to reach their true potential if they are restricted by upper management and corporate politics... or 2. Because they have a volatile personality that simply doesn't work well with others. People who go into business for the wrong reasons (ie. being so much of a tosser that you simply can't work with anyone else) will never succeed - which probably works best for them, otherwise they wouldn't have anything to complain about.
